Congratulations to the Harbor Hills 4.0 mens team on their district win. Team members include Imri Jensen, William Seese, Bengali Raoof, Bill Glisson, John Natolly, Bob Murphy, Rick Welborne and Jim Carter. Congratulations should also go to those who represented Harbor Hills in the recent Senior Games. Paula Smith and Betsy Applebaum won the gold medal for ladies doubles. Paula Smith also won a silver medal in singles and Celia Lombardi and Marilyn Bell won the bronze medal for doubles in their age division. We are proud of you!
When I posted last week about the beautiful new American flag and the flags for each branch of the service behind the 16th green at the Harbor Hills Veteran's Memorial, I did not know the whole story. I now know that these flags and poles were donated by member and resident, Bob Hamel. Thank you, Mr. Hamel, for your selfless generosity!
Florida's Blood Centers are in desperate need of your blood. Yes, yours! And mine and all our friends'. The Bloodmobile will be at Harbor Hills on Friday, May 18 from 12:30 - 3:00 pm. All blood donors will receive a $10 Darden Restaurant gift card and a buy one get one free admission to Gatorland! The participation for our blood drives has been getting smaller and smaller each time. I know we can do better! All donors should bring a photo ID. If you need more information, please call Karen at 753-7000. I hope to see you on the bus!
You may have read in the most recent issue of the Harbor Hills Views that Bill Murn had beeen restoring a Phillippine mahogany boat with ash trim that he and his father had built in the early 1950's. Here is the after picture! Isn't it beautiful? The boat recently made an appearance in the Mt. Dora Antique Boat Show.
If you haven't already signed your favorite child or grandchild up for a fun week at Harbor Hills Kids Camp, now is the time to do it. There are only a few spots left!
