Garden Exchange

GARDEN EXCHANGE

For many of us, there is no better fulfillment than the pleasure of Nature’s beauty that surrounds our Harbor Hills homes.

If you are an enthusiastic gardener or simply love the feel of digging in the dirt, come and let’s organize a Garden Exchange, where we can share our ideas and experiences with our Florida gardens. Learning to appreciate our unique micro-climate through the creation of a monthly “to-do” calendar for Florida plants, shrubs and trees would be a primary goal.

If you are interested, please contact Judy Cammarano by phone (753-0350) or e-mail oceanjewel@comcast.net for information regarding the first meeting on Jan. 15, 2008 .

Thank you!

Several of Harbor Hills Members visited to Historic Bok Sanctuary and "Christmas at Pinewood." It was Pretty Chilly, but everyone enjoyed the trip.
Thanks to Jerri Mayer.

New Hardscape Water Demonstration Project

New Hardscapes Conserve Water

Under the advisement of the St John's River Water Management District the Harbor Hills Homeowner's Association Board of Directors approved the implementation of hardscapes that are designed to conserve water. By removing the sod, using low water plants and shrubs, and replacing inefficient sprinkler heads with low water use micro irrigation the hardscape has been redesigned to conserve water and it looks great!

Soufle Class

'Souffle Class' presented by Annette Rystrom. As you can tell, she did a super job! She mastered both a chocolate souffle and an Asiago souffle. Annette affectionately renamed the latter the "Harbor Hills Asiago Souffle" due to the recipe modifications needed to accomodate our convection (rather than a conventional) oven in the upstairs kitchen.

Club Meetings

It has always been the policy of the Harbor Hills Country Club to allow Clubs and functions that are comprised of Harbor Hills Country Club Members only space for their meetings free of charge.

It has also been our policy that if a Club allows non-members to join, that Club should pay a room rental fee.

Recently some of our Clubs have allowed non-Members of the Harbor Hills Country Club to join their Club. Those Clubs that allow this must pay a room rental fee .

Allowing non members the same rights as members would dilute our membership and we ask all members to follow these rules.

For those that support our Club by being members we appreciate your business and support.

But those pesky Cleveland Indians didnt have a cease fire as they beat the Sox in extra innings last night to tie the series up 1-1.

Good Time to Buy Golf Course Maintenance Equipment

They say ( not sure who they is) that the best time to buy is when everyone is selling.

We picked up the following new equipment for our Golf Course this week:

2 Slightly used Toro 3150 Greens Mowers which we are going to convert to Tee Mowers.

A used Toro 5200 Fairway Mower.

This plus the Toro Sidewinder we picked up earlier this year significantly upgrades our Golf

Course Maintenance equipment so we can maintain the course the way we want to.

Reminder our Goal is to continue to improve our Golf Experience for our Members and Visitors.

We hope to get this machines up and running in the next week or so.

We will see if we can get them cleaned up for a Photo Shoot next week.
